It is unlikely that the Dallas foxes may attack the dogs even when they are too small but it is possible for a dog to be the one that attacks the fox. The cats are able to protect themselves against the foxes and it is possible that the fox will free when they face the cats. If you have small animal like pet rabbit, it is good to keep it in a secure place even if it is rare to report the Texas fox that have eaten a pet of someone, it is possible.

The Texas fox attacks still happen on the rare occasion and they should not be ruled out completely but they do not happen every day. There are serious damage that may be caused by the Texas fox when they attack the farms. They can kill water fowl, goats, poultry, calves or lambs. The foxes are opportunistic animals and if they can find the lambs easily, they may make them their diet. The fox also have been reported to attack the free range poultry, emu chicks, ostrich, deer or cows found in the birth difficulty.

Dallas foxes may also cause the environmental damage when they prey on small species. They eat reptiles, small mammals and birds. They can eat endangered or near extinction species. The foxes will contribute greatly to the extinction pressure of some important species.
